As first-prize winner of The MATT’s 2019 MIXMASTER: Juried Members Exhibition, New York-based painter Michele Riche’s work is on view this summer at Rose Hill. Riche works with subject matter drawn from day-to-day life, manifesting mostly as a keen interest in the human figure. She explores the interplay of figures as both collective and individual entities, placing them within mysterious and emotionally charged settings that evoke a sense of isolation and individual power.
