More about this exhibition
Each of them practices in a wide variety of disciplines, but all create work together in the shelter of the graduate program. Their individual practices serve as a way for them to coalesce, responding to what makes up their surroundings, the current social climate, and their desires to cultivate a sustainable personal and communal resiliency. Creating work through lenses and interests ranging from the liminal space to the value of play, to excavation and decay, each artist has investigated and responded to the broad themes of craft, place, and shelter inspired by Connecticut-raised poet and author Ocean Vuong’s poem Essay on Craft. I Ran Out of Reasons is not an admission of loss, but a recognition of freedom.
