I Saw It at the MATT: A History of Exhibitions
Orton P. Camp Jr. History Gallery
In honor of the Mattatuck Museum’s 150th anniversary, I Saw It at the MATT: A History of Exhibitions chronicles the art, objects, and archives that have been experienced across generations. The project is twofold: it presents an exhibition chronology alongside historical material, sparking memories for recurring visitors and sharing the museum’s contributions to Waterbury culture and to the broader US art world. Secondly, it catalyzes a new oral history project that brings the text and photographs to life, embedding diverse personal stories into the historical record.
