Participate in the first ever MattaTrek event! We encourage our community to join us in a 5K hike of the Mattatuck Trail, beginning at Peterson Memorial Park in Wolcott on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 8am. OR consider sponsoring Museum Director Bob Burns, or other hikers they attempt to hike all 42 miles of the Mattatuck Trail from Saturday to Monday to raise money for Mattatuck Museum exhibitions and programs.

Become a Sponsored Hiker:

Challenge yourself and help support the Mattatuck Museum by becoming a sponsored hiker! Sponsored hikers will be listed on our website with specific links to share for their friends and family to donate.

Sponsored hikers can walk the 5k or join Bob beyond the 5k on a self-guided hike as he continues on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. A shuttle van will be available at checkpoints each day to return participants back to the starting point. Each leg of the walk begins at 8 AM.

Raise $100 by April 20^th to get your name on the MattaTrek event T-shirt. The hiker who collects the most donations will win a prize!
