Identified as the Father of Op Art, Victor Vasarely (1908-1997) was an innovator whose unprecedented use of perceptual abstraction and early anticipation of the shift in human optics make him one of the most important artists of the 20th century.

More about this exhibition
This exhibition of more than sixty work span the period from the late 1930s to the 1980s and explores Vasarely’s serigraphy work and his multi-media pieces including film. Museum visitors can experience art hands-on and participate in the creation of Op Art images with the help of a computer. The Mattatuck is the first American venue for this exhibition organized by the Herakleidon Museum, Athens Greece.
