Youth Learning

The Museum is an excellent destination for a variety of youth groups, including home schoolers, girl and boy scout troops and other youth groups with an interest in art and history. Inter-generational learning opportunities are available for families throughout the year, including Community Free Day, Black History Month Celebration and Kick-Off and Story Time for Toddlers.

The Museum is proud of its longstanding commitment to providing object-based learning opportunities in the form of school field trips, after-school programs and outreach opportunities and welcomes nearly 10,000 school children each year, including every third-, fourth- and fifth-grade Waterbury Public School student. In addition to serving elementary school-aged students, the Museum has developed a number of art and history age-appropriate activities for preschoolers and middle and high school students. Each year the museum also offers art and history classes/workshops during spring and summer breaks.
