SUMMARY:Exhibition Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Better Late Than Never: The Art of Arlene Brown \nWelcome to Better Late Than Never\, an exhibition that celebrates the creative spirit at every stage of life. The tongue-in-cheek title\, courtesy of Arlene Brown’s partner\, perfectly captures the artist’s joyful emergence onto the regional art scene. \nWhile creativity was a constant thread throughout Arlene’s childhood and college years\, life took a detour. She spent decades building a successful law firm from the ground up with her life partner. Yet\, art was never entirely left behind; between legal briefs\, she kept her passion alive through weekly community painting groups on Long Island with the Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BACCA) and hand-carving annual linoleum block print holiday cards. \nFollowing her retirement five years ago\, Arlene finally stepped up to the easel full-time. Embracing regular training\, she watched her distinct style confidently assert itself. Working primarily in oils\, Arlene creates paintings that are at once realistic and interpretative—capturing the quiet\, familiar essence of a scene while infusing it with personal vision. Now an active and award-winning member of Saratoga Arts and the Southern Saratoga Artists Society\, Arlene’s recent accolades include honors for her striking landscapes Bay State and Quiet Afternoon at the Barn. \nBetter Late Than Never is a testament to the idea that a passion deferred is never a passion lost. It invites us all to look closer\, appreciate the scenery\, and remember that it is always the perfect time to begin. \nExhibition Celebration:\nJune 25\n5–6:30 PM \nRegister Here
