Join Michele Morcey as she teaches strength-building poses, balances, and flows that link breath with movement. Students will explore pranayama (breath work), meditation, and final relaxation. While this practice is more vigorous than a gentle yoga class, it is accessible to most levels, as it is led with the idea that all practices serve us differently. Bring your own mat.

Michele Morcey is a 2014 graduate of the Om Center for Yoga and Massage’s teacher training program. She has been practicing yoga with varying degrees of dedication for more than 25 years. In 2016, she received certification in Mindful Resilience Training through the Veterans Yoga Project, and in 2018 completed a program in Yin Yoga and Myofascial Release with Dirk Bennewitz at the Breathing Room in New Haven. In January 2020, Morcey completed her 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Om Center. As a long-distance runner and former cross-country coach, she has a keen interest in yoga and how it serves to complement athletic bodies and minds. She also believes in the power of breath and the necessity for movement for everyone. Morcey continues to study and look to advance her practice and teaching by taking classes and workshops that align with her interest in advanced pranayama, how the body responds to yoga, and the how community at large can be served through a yoga practice.
