Guided Walking Tour of Downtown Waterbury
May 30 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm$20 – $25
Join The MATT for guided walking tours of Downtown Waterbury’s Historic District. Tours will be led by Edward J. Halligan, architectural historian and preservationist who has a special interest and expertise in the architectural and urban developmental history of American cities. Each will include a special look inside some of Downtown’s most distinguished architectural landmarks; some not normally accessible to the general public, and will conclude with a reception at the historic Drescher’s Restaurant on Leavenworth Street. The reception will include a complimentary glass of wine and shared appetizers as the conversation about the architecture and history of Downtown Waterbury continues. Extensive tour notes will be provided and tours will proceed rain or shine. Participants are invited to park in the large lot on Park Place behind the YMCA.

The tour will include Union Station, Superior Court, Telephone Building, City Hall, Chase Municipal Building, and Post Office as well as various former banks.
