Challenging the Stereotype: A lecture on Contemporary Native American Art-Online Lecture

Curatorial Assistant Chelsea Garth will present an illustrated lecture that explores the representation and empowerment of Indigenous people through Native-made art, the Native American activist movements of the late 1960s and 1970s, and the inclusion of Native women into both art and history. Pre-registration required.

In conjunction with the exhibition of Grandmother Gestating Father and the Washita River Runs Ribbon-Like (1975) by T.C. Cannon (Kiowa/Caddo)

In order to participate, we recommend that you download the Zoom app on a laptop or tablet before the presentation, and get into the Zoom room a few minutes early to address any technical problems.

Registered participants will be able to download the code after checkout.
