Art has many functions, far beyond the simple act of looking at paintings and sculptures, it can also be therapeutic. Join Vincent de Luise as he explores the ways art is used as medicine, a tool for mindfulness and a means to create uplifting and life-enhancing experiences.

Vincent de Luise MD is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at Yale University School of Medicine, distinguished visiting scholar at Stony Brook University School of Medicine, and on the adjunct faculty of Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC). He is also a visiting professor at University of Rome ‘“La Sapienza” School of Medicine, in Rome, Italy. Dr de Luise is the Cultural Ambassador of the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra and president of the Connecticut Summer Opera Foundation. He serves on the humanities and medicine committee at WCMC and is program annotator for the WCMC Music and Medicine Orchestra. He gives an annual lecture on art and visual perception at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
